Jehan Designs - Botanicals, Cyclamen

This image depicts the grace and beauty of cyclamen booms. I grew up with them around my house every Christmas season and knew my mother loved them. The soft, elegant blooms of intense color floating above a sea of dark, patterned leaves always struck me as exotic because we lived in a place with snow and killing frosts in the winter. Everything was dead but here, in the cyclamen, was a breath of life. I never knew more than that about the significance of these blooms until this year. I had Cyclamens all over my house this Christmas and my mother commented, “Every where I look there are Cyclamens! I love it! Did you know that there was a cyclamen on the table in Germany when we got married?” It was a wonderful view into my mother’s world and life.
